Hazel Poa on supporting Singaporeans in starting and raising families
The government should “lower the barriers” and reduce the obstacles standing in the way of Singaporeans who want to have children, said NCMP Hazel Poa. Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 5), she highlighted the cost of living as a key concern. She urged the government to reduce the GST to seven per cent and exempt basic necessities. The government should price HDB flats without land cost unless sold in the resale market. It should also manage property prices and rents and in particular, reduce rents at hawker centres.
